Went for my old Secondary School reunion (10 years since we were in Sec 4) last night. Overall, I think it was a success. It was great to see loads of folk I hadn't seen in ages (both teachers and students) and to know that most of them are doing well and seem to be happy with their current lot in life. We appear to be evenly split up into the groups of "those who've just started working", "those presently looking for jobs" and "those who're still studying". In about 5 years, things could be very different. I'm sure a great deal of the folk there last night will be married and have kids by then! Of course, it wasn't a completely peachy night with my having a somewhat nasty encounter with a particular person from my past who used to be a mate. The short exchange I had with him last night left a rather bitter taste in my mouth and the realisation that he's not changed one bit and is still as obnoxious and pretentious as he used to be 13 years ago. Oh well. Maybe one day, he'll wake up and realise that he's as such. I don't see it happening anytime soon though. It's a wonder he didn't get beaten up when he was studying overseas.

On a happier note, after the reunion, we made our way to Loof and then on to Zouk where Lee Burridge surprised me by playing a much better set than the one he played the last time I saw him at Zouk. I would say that this was the first time I've enjoyed a Minimal set. It even got to the point where both me and Lee were engaged in a bit of pointing at each other (me in appreciation for his pumping growler of a set and he, pointing and probably thinking to himself "look, there's a drunk nutter on the dancefloor!!")
Anyhow, here's to a good week ahead as I enjoy my last few days as a 25 yr-old! Mental!
